REPAIR DON’T REPLACE! MENDING DENIM WITH COVET DENIM

10:30-11:30 am

Salvage your favorite denim with Denver’s Denim Doctor! In this hands on workshop, you’ll learn the basics of Sashiko hand mending along with some unique repair techniques Ryan has picked up along the way.

Sashiko/BORO is a form of decorative reinforcement stitching originating in Japan during the Edo period. Historically it’s been used to reinforce tears with patches, but this running stitch technique has recently gained popularity for its is decorative appeal.

Ryan Finke is an industrial designer living in Denver. He began selling vintage Levi’s and repairing classic denim about four years ago in his basement for fun, then he turned it into a bonafide business. He’ll not only save your beloved vintage 501 Levi’s when they’re way past they’re prime, he’ll hook you up a one of a kind Sherpa trucker jacket you’ll cherish for life. And let’s get real, the environment is a mess right now. Finke encourages us to all do our part and repair our favorite things instead of replacing them. Plus, your kid is gonna eventually want that killer Sherpa trucker jacket for themselves.

ORGANIZING REDEFINED: YOUR GUIDE TO DECLUTTERING & SIMPLIFYING

12 pm-1:30 pm

At Room Redefined, we believe that the organizational process is as much about you as it is your stuff!  Therefore, we work to bring the individual(s) back to the focus of their spaces and help their belongings work for them. In other words, we show our stuff who owns it!

In this workshop we will debunk organizational myths that commonly discourage us from tackling organizational projects, and then follow a strategy to clarify our intentions for our spaces so that our work becomes focused, intentional and aligned with personal needs and goals.   We will end the session with some hands on organizing to practice strategies that work well in any space so that attendees are ready to step into their own spaces and put their skills and ideas to good use.
